ABOUT US

PROTECTING OUR “CHIMNEY” VIA ADVOCACY, ENGAGEMENT AND ACCOUNTABILITY.

The J.W. Holley Legacy Council (also known as "the 1903 Council") is established to protect our “chimney” (i.e. Albany State University) by vigorously advocating for enhancing the university beyond its current state of stagnation and reposition it as a premier institution of higher learning. The council is dedicated to political advocacy, public education, and policy engagement that advance access, equity, justice, and excellence in higher education, while holding institutions and policymakers accountable to these principles and championing a vision of higher education as a public good accessible to all.
